We want to support the local wine industry by being Le Marche’s biggest advocate in the region and beyond. We’ve spent the past decade delving into Le Marche winemaking and believe its strength lies in its diversity – of grapes, styles, methods and ideas, which differ from town to town and winery to winery.
The wines you’ll find at Marcanteca are thoughtfully curated, and represent the breadth and quality of the region’s production. We provide several ways to experience Le Marche’s wine in Marcanteca’s shop, wine club, wine tours and wine tastings (Wine Bar & Tasting Room opening 2027). We also offer a range of custom services, from bespoke events and corporate hospitality to sommelier and consultation services.

Marcanteca offers sommelier and consultation services, including:
• Selecting and sourcing wine for weddings or other events
• Developing itineraries and other travel resources
• Writing and journalism
• Research and report-writing

Who we are
Marcanteca is run by husband-and-wife team Giorgio and Catherine. Giorgio is from Le Marche, born and raised in Recanati, and Catherine is from London, where they lived together for over ten years.
Catherine is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, and she and Giorgio hold several further wine qualifications from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). Catherine comes from a research background and holds a PhD, and together they bring over 35 years of combined experience in the global design, arts and culture industries. They are fierce champions of the local knowledge, skill and viticultural history behind quality winemaking, and of the people who sustain these practices across generations.
